After cleaning, let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the inside to completely dry and cool before using it. If only the outside is wiped dry, residual moisture inside may cause a short circuit or unstable steam if turned on immediately.
Key points for drying after cleaning:
- Internal drying is more important. Even if the outer shell is dry, cleaning fluid or moisture may still remain in the water tank, steam pipes, and other internal structures. It is recommended to open the water tank lid after cleaning, place the garment steamer upright in a ventilated area, and let it air dry for at least 10 minutes to ensure internal moisture evaporates.
- High-temperature components need to cool down. Before cleaning, the machine is at a high temperature. Direct contact with water may cause thermal expansion and contraction, damaging core components. Waiting for it to cool down not only helps with drying but also protects the lifespan of the heater.
- Residual liquid must be drained. After cleaning with white vinegar or descaling agent, be sure to completely drain the waste liquid and rinse with clean water 1-2 times to avoid chemical residue corroding the internal structures.
