The materials used in garment steamers primarily affect their ironing performance, durability, and protection of clothing. Choosing the right material can significantly improve the user experience.

1. Garment Steamer Panel Material: Directly Affects Smoothness and Clothing Protection
The garment steamer panel (the soleplate of the ironing head) is the part that directly contacts clothing, making material selection crucial:

  • Ceramic Glaze Panel: Smooth surface, strong non-stick properties, suitable for handling easily damaged fabrics such as silk and synthetic fibers. Effectively prevents scratches and provides even heat distribution, making it a relatively ideal choice.
  • Stainless Steel Panel: Fast heat conduction and durable, but requires high temperature control. Prolonged use may cause thin fabrics to develop a "shiny" sheen due to excessive heat conduction.
  • Teflon Coated Panel: Good smoothness, but the coating is prone to wear after long-term use, affecting its lifespan.
  • Aluminum Alloy + Ceramic Coating: Combines lightweight and smoothness. This design is used in some Suppor models, balancing performance and feel.

2. Garment Steamer Heating Unit Material: Determines Steam Performance and Lifespan

The heating unit (inner tank) is the core component of a garment steamer, and its material directly affects the stability of steam output and the machine's lifespan:

  • Pure copper or titanium alloy heating units: High heat conversion efficiency, stable heat storage, corrosion resistance; considered high-end configurations, providing continuous and stable high-pressure steam.
  • Aluminum alloy inner tank: Heats up quickly and evenly; high cost-performance ratio; currently the preferred choice for mainstream mid-range models.
  • Aluminum inner tank: Low cost, but slow heat conduction and prone to scaling; long-term use may affect steam output and safety; recommended to avoid.

3. Garment Steamer Water Tank Material: Affects Safety and Visibility

Water tanks are mostly made of transparent plastic (such as PCTG) for easy observation of water level. High-quality products use high-temperature resistant, non-toxic, and odorless food-grade materials to ensure no harmful gases are released at high temperatures. Some models are equipped with a visible water tank for convenient real-time monitoring of water replenishment.
